Sacko Networks Introduces New Design, Improved User Interface
Better performance delivers more user-friendly functionality
to customers of online digital photo community
New York – November 25, 2002 – Sacko Networks today announced the enhanced functionality of Sacko.com, a completely redesigned website that makes it easier than ever for customers to enjoy the full benefits of online photographic services, including Sacko’s unique search capabilities. The redesigned site offers not only a more intuitive user interface but also a new infrastructure that streamline the process of uploading, sharing, finding and organizing digital photos. The redesigned site may be accessed at www.sacko.com.
Sacko, the Internet’s only searchable digital photography community, is built upon a
proprietary technology that allows users to identify and label people within digital photos, which, by turn, grants them the power to search and retrieve photos of specific individuals. The site’s intuitive new layout has incorporated an Inbox where users can easily find photos and albums shared by friends and family. Optimized for use with Macromedia’s Flash Player 6, Sacko’s interface also allows users to view both album thumbnails and full-size images at once for fast and easy navigation. The site’s speedier performance also delivers the convenient ability to view entire photo albums without page refreshes.
“Pictures let people share experiences with their friends and family literally all over the world, and I wanted Sacko to facilitate this process, so more individuals could get involved and have fun,” said Sacko CEO and founder
Mark Frigon. “The searchability of Sacko introduces a community element – so intrinsic to both the Internet and photography – that the other online photo websites lack.”
In addition to its search functionality, the
technology immediately notifies people via email when friends or family identify them in a new photograph and delivers a copy to their Sacko.com inbox. The system automatically creates a new user account for each labeled person who is not already a Sacko member and emails viewing instructions to him or her. This extends the enjoyment of online photography to people who don’t even own digital cameras and wouldn’t otherwise consider Web-based photo albums. Sacko also offers individuals significantly greater control over photographs on the Web. Sacko also provides security controls that let users block access to certain photos they are in and maintain private albums with restricted access.
“With more people using digital cameras and coming online to share their photos, there are lots of consumers out there who aren’t necessarily computer pros but who need to take advantage of all the functionality online photo services can offer,” said
Frigon. “We’ve structured our site to take all the guesswork out and still deliver a feature-rich experience.”
